Reverend Curtis Ray Lucas is the Senior Pastor First Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. He received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Geology from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, and a second Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Counseling from The College of Biblical Studies, Houston, Texas, a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling from the Houston Graduate School of Theology,  Master’s Degree from Truett Theological Seminary, Baylor University, Waco, Texas and is presently attending Houston Baptist University in Houston, Texas seeking a Masters in Biblical Languages. He also received an Honorary Doctorate of Ministry in Christian Counseling from Tyrannus University of Biblical Studies, College of Theology & Divinity in New Mexico. In the Fall of 2010, Pastor Lucas matriculated at Regents Park College, Oxford University in London, England, the oldest University in the world.


He has been married to the former Mary Lena Miller since 1970.  They are the proud parents of three daughters,; one son, twelve grandchildren and three-great grands. He has been blessed to travel to many countries: England, France, Spain, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Morocco, Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Japan, South Korea, Tunisia, North Africa, Libya, Algeria, Aruba, Canada, Bahamas, Mexico, The Caribbean, Jamaica and Italy. 


Reverend Lucas is committed to the Church, the community and its continued development and advancement. It is his objective to improve the quality of life of its entire populace.  He has dedicated his life to service, which is exemplified by his work with people of all ages, backgrounds and origins.  He developed the community-building concept of “Ripple to Wave” that is designed to transform a community or organization through time and continuous focused efforts.
